Interserve unveils NHS learning plan

Interserve has joined forces with Leicester College to provide learning opportunities through them for staff working in the hospitals and NHS estate in Leicestershire.

Interserve is responsible for delivering support services to the NHS Trusts in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, to improve estates and facilities management services across the city and counties.

Around 2,000 employees could benefit from Interserve's commitment to offering skills and development opportunities via Leicester College. The courses available include numeracy and literacy and English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), apprenticeships and Qualifications of Credit Frameworks (QCFs).

Maria Kitching, director of transformation for Interserve said: "We wanted to work with a local college to provide training to all our employees that need it. Each employee that embarks on this will have their own learning and development programme and where, for example, we identify they need help with numeracy they will be able to attend classes for free on-site, and within their working week.

"Not only will this help them in their jobs, but will aid them in day to day life with managing the household finances, shopping, banking and helping their children with their homework."
