Mobile healthcare worth £15.27bn by 2018

The global market for mobile healthcare products is expected to reach $23.49bn (£15.27bn) by 2013, with a compound annual growth rate of 30.5% from 2013 to 2018, a new market research report states.

The mobile healthcare market is defined as portable healthcare products with integrated wireless communication capabilities. These products are generally used for measuring and monitoring data in combination with display or representation of the data on a mobile computing device, typically a smart-phone or a tablet.

Incorporating wireless technology into portable healthcare devices has improved healthcare standards and helped in averting many dire health situations, the report says, adding that it has also increased patient mobility, both at the hospital and at home.
