Protest over NHS cuts at Hull

Campaigners angered by proposed cuts at East Yorkshire's two main hospitals staged a rally on the weekend, urging the Government to rethink controversial NHS reforms, reports.

The online news portal said that heart specialists have already condemned the closure of Ward Six, a cardiology ward, at Castle Hill.

The crowd of protestors included Hull East MP Karl Turner, who told the new portal: "They are taking the N out of the NHS, because it won't be national for much longer. Trusts will be competing against one another so you might get good care in one area and not another.

He pointed out that there were too many risks to the reforms and that: "More and more services will be privatised – it will be disastrous for patients."
