The inspection visit took place on September 21 & 22, 2021.

This was an unannounced focused inspection of the emergency department following concerns about the quality and safety of the service raised in previous inspections, including the care of patients with mental health problems. The CQC found improvements had been made in the care of patients with mental health problems, however, it identified breaches of regulation 12; safe care, and of regulation 17; governance. The provider was issued with a requirement notice after the inspection. The rating of services remained the same.
