This was a short notice, focused inspection of the maternity service, looking only at the safe and well-led key questions, as part of the CQC’s national maternity inspection programme. The service was rated requires improvement.
As a result of the inspection the CQC requested further documentary evidence to support its judgements, including policies and procedures, staffing rotas and quality improvement initiatives.
