The inspection visit took place on December 8, 2020. It was an unannounced focused inspection carried out because the CQC had concerns about the quality of services, particularly in the emergency department where the Trust’s ability to meet national targets posed concerns about patient safety. The Trust’s other core services were not inspected. During the inspection a breach of regulation 12, Safe Care and Treatment was identified and a warning notice served under Section 29A of the Health and Social Care Act 2008.
