Inspection visits took place on April 20 - May 7, 2021.

This was an unannounced inspection of urgent and emergency care services, surgery and maternity core services provided by the Trust, because at the last inspection the Trust overall was rated as requires improvement and there were concerns about the quality and safety of some services.

The CQC told the Trust it must take action to improve the Maternity service at Westmorland General Hospital.
