Hinchingbrooke Health Care NHS Trust has appointed specialist provider of health estate management services, Ryhurst, as its long-term joint venture partner to work in partnership to deliver an ambitious and wide ranging land and estates strategy for its 40-acre site serving Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire.
Over an initial 15-year period, the Strategic Estates Partnership (SEP) will re-align the estate to improve patient care for 21st Century needs whilst also bringing forward an innovative and sustainable health campus, combining living, care and education plans.
Forming a lean and efficient joint venture company, the partners will plan, fund, procure and project manage individual development projects as well as oversee the day-to-day responsibility of the Trust’s estate.
Through the partnership, the work delivered will include estates rationalisation, capital programme planning, raising finance and investment, strategic service transformation planning, procurement and project/contract management of a range of services including construction and facilities management.

Ryhurst has already successfully entered into three other SEPs with NHS Trusts to help better utilise estate, improve patient experience through provision of quality buildings and provide the best possible value to the taxpayer. These include: Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust (Red Rose Corporate Services), established in 2010, Cheshire & Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (Villicare), established in 2013 and Isle of Wight NHS Trust (Wight Life Partnership), established in 2014.
