Health Education England (HEE) has added a new e-learning module to its Environmentally Sustainable Healthcare programme.
The Environmental Sustainability in Quality Improvement e-learning session focuses on integrating environmental, social and financial considerations into quality improvement.
The 30-minute session aims to support learners in the following areas:
• To recognise sustainability as a domain of quality
• To describe how sustainability adds value to each step of a quality improvement process
• To identify the steps for embedding sustainability into quality improvement
• To identify appropriate resources for undertaking a sustainable quality improvement project.
This session follows on from the Building a Net Zero NHS session, which provides an introduction to environmentally sustainable healthcare.
The Environmentally Sustainable Healthcare (ESN) programme was developed with the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare and the HEE Northeast Faculty of Sustainable Healthcare to provide the NHS healthcare workforce with the knowledge and skills to deliver healthcare for financial, social and environmental sustainability.
