The new ProCure 2020 Framework (P2020) will be more than just a framework for design and construction; it will be a framework for Healthcare Solutions.

The Department of Health and Social Care, together with NHS England and NHS Improvement says a key feature of the new Framework will be to appoint providers that manage an integrated supply chain and are capable of collaborating with the Department, the NHS and social care clients to deliver strategic planning, business cases, design, construction, minor works, FM advice, capital and operational cost efficiency savings.

The Department and NHS England/Improvement have also unveiled a Lot Structure for the Framework, which enables large-scale and high-value infrastructure projects to be efficiently and cost-effectively undertaken but does not exclude the involvement of small and medium sized organisations. Two National Lots will cover projects valued at £25m - £99.9m and above £100m, which is expected to encompass most of the significant new-builds and refurbishments announced so far. A third Regional Lot for projects upto £24.99m splits England into four regions – the North, Midlands and the East, the South, and London.

The current ProCure Framework – P22 – is due to expire at the end of September 2020. The new framework is to be in place and operational by October 1, 2020. It will run for six years and its estimated value is £20 billion. It will be available for all health and social care construction and refurbishment schemes. The Department and NHS England/Improvement want the new P2020 to be the framework of choice for the NHS, the social care sector and contractors.
