HEFMA’s Immediate Past Chair, Paul Fenton, Director of Estates and Facilities at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust is one of several NHS professionals to receive awards in the New Year’s Honours List. Paul has received an MBE for his services to the NHS.

Paul has also just embarked on a two-year tenure as President of IHEEM (for more about this, read our interview in the Jan/Feb issue of HEFMA Pulse magazine).

Other MBE recipients from Estates & Facilities roles within healthcare include Paul Brooks, Director of Patient Experience at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust for services to healthcare leadership, and Anna Hallas, National Domestic Manager for Compass Group for services to the NHS.

Professor Daniel John Clark, Head of the Department of Clinical Engineering at Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham was awarded an OBE for serives to clinical engineering, particularly during COVID-19.

Staff at two companies within the healthcare food supply chain - Bidfood and Brakes – have also received MBEs for their services to the vulnerable and/or the food supply chain during the COVID-19 pandemic. These include Steven Clarke, Managing Director of Bidfood Wholesale Depots, James Gouldie, Bidfood Supply Chain Director, Alexander Mayfield, Supply Chain and Operations Director of Brakes and Richard James, a Data Technologist at Brakes.
