A volunteer with the Royal Voluntary Service who works at an NHS hospital café has been included on the New Years Honours List 2025. Betty Cobley has been awarded a British Empire Medal for Charitable Service. She volunteers at the Leicester Royal Infirmary Café.
For services to the NHS, Joseph Harrison, Chief Executive of Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust was awarded Commander of the Order of the British Empire, and Julian Emms, Chief Executive of Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Susan Jacques, Chief Executive of County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust were both awarded Officer of the Order of the British Empire.
Member of the Order of the British Empire awards were made to Marimouttou Coumarassamy, Deputy Chief Operating Officer, Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, and Founder and Chair, British Indian Nurse Association. For services to Supporting International Nurses, Edwin Ndlovu, Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Chief Executive, East London NHS Foundation Trust for services to the NHS and to Nursing, and Kathryn Thomson, lately Chief Executive of Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust, for services to the NHS.
Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) awards were given to Marie Gabriel, founding Chair of the NHS North East London Integrated Care System, and former Secretary of State for Health and current Chair of NHS Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board, the Rt Hon Patricia Hewitt.
