NHS Facilities Directors around the country have been polled to gain insight into their biggest concerns right now and into the near future, leading into winter pressures. It can now be revealed that the issue which came out on top as the number one concern, is that of staffing resource and availability. One solution to overcome this problem being used by a number of Trusts is bespoke workforce management software for Facilities Teams such as Portering, Cleaning and Auditing, which are giving management an oversight using the data provided as to where resource is most needed, ensuring the right person is in the right place at the right time. This sees increases in workforce efficiency, meaning when staff shortages and lack of availability occur, levels still don’t fall below that of before the solutions were installed, allowing Trusts to maintain improvements to patient flow.
Mental Health is one of the biggest causes of NHS staff sickness and each solution is built with that in mind. The software allows management oversight of workload to ensure certain members of staff aren’t being overburdened and can ensure an element of fairness to job allocation is occuring.
The research was undertaken by GV Healthcare, who work with a number of Trusts across the UK and beyond where their Facilities Management software solutions are allowing Facilities teams to do more tasks with the same amount of resource.
