NHS Improvement confirms six board appointments

NHS Improvement has today confirmed the reappointment of Lord Patrick Carter and Lord Ara Darzi as non-executive board members. Four new members have also been announced, with appointments effective from August 1.*

 

Sir Andrew Morris, Lead for the Frimley Health & Care Integrated Care System and former Chief Executive of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. Hewill be stepping down from his role at Frimley Health & Care Integrated Care System as part of a managed handover.

Wol Kolade, Chairman of the Guy’s and St Thomas’s Charity and Managing Partner of the private equity firm, Livingbridge. He is also an Emeritus Governor of the London School of Economics and Political Science and former Chairman of the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association. 

Laura Wade-Gery, member of the Government Digital Service Advisory board, as well as non-executive Director of the John Lewis Partnership, non-executive Director of property development and investment company British Land, and non-executive director of biotechnology company Immunocore. She is also the former Chief Executive of Tesco.com, and an executive Director of Marks and Spencer - responsible for stores and online.

Tim Ferris MD, Chief Executive of the Massachusetts General Physicians Organisation and formerly Senior Vice President of Population Health Management at Partners Healthcare in Boston, USA. He studied medicine at Harvard Medical School, received clinical training at Massachusetts General Hospital, and has a MPH in Clinical Effectiveness from the Harvard School of Public Health. 

Sigurd Reinton and Sarah Harkness will both step down from the board, having served two terms. All six board members will serve for three years.

 

* Lord Carter started his new tenure on July 1.
