Synbiotix has released a video case study demonstrating how its Total Facilities Management (TFM) software has transformed operations at Barts Health NHS Trust. The video provides a firsthand look at how the Trust, which operates across five sites in central London, successfully implemented Synbiotix’s suite of digital solutions to streamline facilities management, improve patient care, and drive efficiency.
Addressing Key Challenges
Before adopting Synbiotix, Barts Health NHS Trust faced significant challenges in managing its facilities services. The Trust relied on 14 separate systems for soft services, leading to inconsistent data, high licensing costs, and administrative complexity. Staff training was fragmented, and a lack of real-time management data made service reviews difficult.
Recognising the need for an integrated, user-friendly system, Barts Health turned to Synbiotix to deliver a TFM solution that could support portering, catering, domestic services, security, and linen management—all on a single digital platform.
Implementation & Impact
The implementation was structured in phases to accommodate the scale of the Trust’s operations, spanning 2,500 staff and five service lines. A “train-the-trainer” approach ensured that local leads could efficiently train their teams with the support of drop-in sessions, training guides, videos, and an online help desk. On-site support from Synbiotix helped ensure a smooth transition.
One of the most striking results highlighted in the video is that Barts Health NHS Trust saved 80,000 pieces of paper in just the first month after implementing Synbiotix. This significant reduction in paperwork not only enhances efficiency but also supports the NHS’s broader sustainability goals.
