The HEFMA Compliance Collaboration Forum is due to meet on Tuesday, May 16 from 13:00pm - 14:30pm. This Forum is a platform to drive discussions on the common estates and facilities related compliance challenges faced by all.
At this forthcoming Forum, a spotlight session will be held on Water Safety, focused on Mycobacterium abscessus. We are therefore excited to welcome Paul Nolan, an IHEEM Registered Authorising Engineer, to deliver a presentation on this subject.
NHSE has recently stated its intention to carry out a review of HTM 04-01 in relation to Immunocompromised patients and Mycobacteria. Mycobacterium abscessus infection is a rare infection which can cause problems for people with specific underlying respiratory conditions or who are immunosuppressed as a result of their condition.
Paul is a distinguished expert in his field with over 54 years of experience in the FM and building services sector and 27 years of working with water hygiene challenges. During this session, Paul will delve into the background of the HTM review, providing valuable insights into the potential transmission routes of Mycobacterium abscessus infection. He will also address critical water sampling issues and share other key information that will be of interest to estates healthcare professionals who have responsibility for managing water safety.
This is an excellent opportunity to learn from an industry expert and gain a deeper understanding of this topic ahead of the HTM review. Join us for what promises to be an engaging and informative session.
