Firecode - Fire Safety in the NHS HTM 05-03: Operational Provisions - Part A & B.

HEFMA members are invited to review and provide comments on the above HTM standards. These documents are a draft for the technical engagement process. Whilst there are still areas of the documents to complete, this process is designed to allow you, our members, to comment on the main content. Engagement will remain open until June 7, 2023 and the feedback received will be considered prior to finalisation of the standards.

Those responsible for the leadership and management of fire safety within the NHS will have a particular interest in these documents. Therefore, please ensure you make the relevant experts within your organisation aware of this technical engagement and encourage them to review the documents and provide comments. This is your opportunity, as NHS staff on the front line, to influence the development of these standards.

The technical engagement process is managed via the NHS England hosted ‘Future Standards Working Group’ (FSWG) of which HEFMA is a member. The FSWG drafts new and updated national standards - updates to HTMs, HBNs etc.

As described above, we have been asked to circulate these drafts to HEFMA members to obtain feedback on the content. We will then collate this feedback and return it to NHS England. The deadline date for comments to be fed back to NHS England is June 7, 2023.

This is not a public consultation but a “technical engagement” so these documents must not be circulated outside the NHS or HEFMA.

To obtain a copy of the draft document please contact your HEFMA Branch secretary. Any comments should be returned to Liam Casey (Compliance Sub-Group Lead) via email ([email protected]).
